City releases list of Monday MLK holiday closures

A number of city recreational facilities will be open for the Martin Luther King Jr. birthday holiday

With the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday coming up on Monday, the City of Arlington has released a list of what will be open – and won’t be open that day.

Trash and recycling will run as scheduled.

All municipal buildings, such as City Hall, the City Office Tower, the Municipal Court, all public libraries, Animal Services, Handitran and Parks and Recreation administrative offices will be closed, as will Lake Arlington, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Visitors Center, Housing Authority and the Water Utilities South Service Center.

The Meadowbrook Recreation Center, Bob Duncan Center at Vandergriff Park, Eunice Activity Center and the Senior Recreation Center on New York Avenue will also be closed.

There were also be no Meals On Wheels delivered. Regular delivery will resume later in the week.

The Meadowbrook Park, Tierra Verde and Lake Arlington Golf Courses, Arlington Tennis Center and Hugh Smith Indoor Pool will be open, as will the Hugh Smith, Cliff Nelson, Dottie Lynn and Elzie Odom Recreation Centers.

The Ventana Grille at Tierra Verde will also be open, as will Rideshare.
