The Texas Rangers, in association with The Cordish Companies and the Professional Bull Riders, announced plans for a country bar to open at Texas Live! in 2018.

The PBR Country Bar, the flagship of a chain of existing and planned bars across the country, will have a capacity of more than 1,500, and will occupy a 7,000-square foot balcony overlooking Arlington Backyard, a 5,000 -capacity event concert pavilion.

“I could not be more excited about today’s announcement,” said Taylor Gray, Vice President of Development for the Cordish Companies. “This will be our flagship location. We think it will be the heartbeat of Texas Live!.”

The bar will be located on the second floor of the Lockhart Smokehouse, which was announced as part of Texas Live! last week.

“They say everything is bigger in Texas,” said Sean Gleason, the Chief Executive Officer of Professional Bull Riders. “Since the first PBR Country Bar launched in 2008, the concept has been a phenomenal success and will soon expand to 10 locations nationwide.”

The most prominent location until now is on the Las Vegas Strip.

Gleason added that the PBR organization has had an extremely successful year over the past 12 months in all phases of its organization.

“We’ve set 13 attendance records in the past year,” he said. “Our TV ratings are up 12 percent, and we’ve beaten every sports organization on television except the NFL. The PBR will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2018, and we’re looking forward to having a big party in Arlington.”

The Country Bar will join a long list of planned facilities at Texas Live!, including Lockhart Smokehouse, Revolver Brewery, the Rangers Republic, Arlington Backyard and a planned restaurant by famed restauranteur Guy Fieri.
