Police investigating early morning shooting death
A vehicle burglary is the probable motive in the shooting, according to investigators
Arlington Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 3700 block of French Wood Drive Sunday morning.
At about 3 a.m. Sunday, police officers responded to a report of a 17-year-old male laying in the street on French Wood with an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives are investigating the case as a probable vehicle burglary that was interrupted by the homeowner at the residence where the victim was found. A second suspect fled the scene prior to arrival of the police.
Investigators are putting together a timeline on exactly what occurred in the shooting.
No arrests have been made thus far, but the case will be forwarded to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office upon completion for further review.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.
