Police seek information on burglary suspects
The two persons of interest in the investigation were posing as Water Department employees
Arlington Police are seeking assistance from citizens to help crack a burglary ring involving a man and woman posing as utility workers to break into residences in search of guns and cash.
According to an ongoing investigation, on Feb. 4 the pair, posing as Water Department employees, entered an elderly woman’s residence under the guise of needing to check the victim’s water.
As the female suspect distracted the victim, the male perpetrator stole a safe, two handguns, money, credit cards and jewelry.
Both suspects were wearing identification badges and gloves, and used walkie-talkies to communicate to make them look official.
The couple drove off in a white SUV or truck with a camper attached. Investigators believe the suspects are also involved in similar offenses in Irving and Richardson.
Arlington Police remind everyone that all Arlington Water Utilities employees wear official city uniforms. In addition to having their badges, they will always be in a city marked vehicle.
If anyone has any information or possibly recognize the persons of interest, Arlington Police request that they contact Det. Eddie Green at (817) 459-6073.
