A surveillance video released by Arlington police on Tuesday shows two store employees fight off a pair of would-be robbers. Now police are searching for the suspects.

On July 18, two male suspects entered a cell phone store in the 3400 block of South Cooper Street with the intent to commit a robbery.

One of the suspects pulled a handgun from a backpack and points it at two employees behind a counter. He then jumps over the counter, only to be intercepted by the employees, who begin fighting back.

The second suspect draws a weapon from his pants and points it at the employees as they wrestle with his accomplice.

After a brief struggle, the suspects bolt for the door, but not before a tug-of-war match with the employees, who appeared to be trying to apprehend the first suspect.

Nobody was shot during the encounter, which police said was “very lucky.”

Police are asking the public to watch the video and contact Det. Houchin at 817-459-5301.
