Fort Worth police recover body on Arlington tip
The tip was provided to Fort Worth police by Arlington's department, and was received in the course of investigating a gruesome double homicide from September
The body of a missing person that was recovered by Fort Worth police may be connected to a double homicide case in Arlington.
Fort Worth police were seen entering a vacant home in the 6400 block of Woodway Drive in Fort Worth on Tuesday. They were investigating a tip provided to them by Arlington’s department that the body of a missing person may be buried at the property.
A spokesperson for the Arlington Police Department said the tip came in last weekend from a person “involved” in the case of a double homicide that occurred in Arlington last month. In that homicide, a severed head was discovered just blocks away from AT&T Stadium.
The identity of the recovered body has not been released, and a Fort Worth police spokesperson said they do not have any reports connected to the tip.
“There is a rotation that has been set up at the location while the validity of the tip can be assessed,” the spokesperson said. “It is too early into the investigation to speculate what transpired.”
Outside of the Crime Stoppers tip, there has yet to be a clear connection made to the double homicide in Arlington. Arlington’s spokesperson said the tip did not come from any of the suspects in that case.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and the cause of death once next of kin have been notified.
