At least eight units were affected by a fire that occurred at an apartment complex in east Arlington on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded at 12:49 p.m. to a two-alarm fire in the Running Brooks Apartments located in the 3000 block of Little Brook Lane. The apartments are located near Park Row Drive just east of State Highway 360.

The fire was contained to two units, but affected eight, according to Fire Deparment spokesperson Lt. Mike Joiner. Red Cross was on-scene to help displaced families.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Joiner added that four dogs were rescued in the operation.
