A congressional town hall is scheduled for Arlington at the end of August.

On August 31, U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, will host a town hall meeting at the Cooper Street YMCA building. The meeting will last from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Following an update on his priorities and activities in Washington, Barton will open the meeting to questions and comments from residents.

Three other town hall meetings are also scheduled for Rice, Crowley, and his hometown, Ennis. By the end of August, he will have hosted nine town hall meetings.

Barton made national headlines in March when he told a constituent at a meeting in Frost to “shut up.”

He has served the 6th Congressional District of Texas since 1985.
