Hawkins Cemetery State Historical Marker Dedication

Hawkins Cemetery in South Arlington has received official recognition as a historical landmark from The State of Texas! Dianne Chance, board secretary for Hawkins Cemetery, has dedicated over 10 years of her time toward this goal. Hawkins Cemetery chronicles many pioneer families that settled in the Tate Springs area in the mid-1800's. Many early settlers are buried there, along with founder Harvey Hawkins and his family, as well as Civil War veteran Jason B. Little and his family for whom Arlington's Little Elementary School is named. The cemetery is located at 5301 North Hwy 287 Access in Arlington.
